About the job

 

The QHSE Advisor supports the UK QHSE Manager and onshore teams at DWT-UK in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management. This role ensures compliance with contractual obligations and strengthens our QHSE policies and procedures through continuous improvement. You will also work with UK Engineering Teams to implement and maintain the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).

Location

Livingston Scotland. 

Duties and responsibilities – Including but not limited to.

Assist in the development of site critical QHSE documentation to perform all works on site, e.g. CoSHH Assessments, Risk Assessments, Work Procedures, etc.

· Conduct accident/ incident investigation and work with the UK QHSE Manager and QHSE Advisors to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimise future recurrences.

· Develop and facilitate QHSE risk assessments as required. · Coordinate and execute QHSE inspections and internal, sub-contractor, and third-party audits as directed by the UK QHSE Manager

· Take ownership of PFPE (Personal Fall Protection Equipment) certification management through tracking software.

· Conduct investigations, analysis, and report findings to the UK QHSE Manager on: o Non-conformity reports and root cause analysis, o Incidents, near misses, and damages o Assist with Key performance indicators (KPI)

· Assist & manage the Wind Turbine Safety Rules in collaboration with the Company's Engineering Dept.

· Assist the UK QHSE Manager in developing and monitoring QHSE performance, progress, preventive, and corrective action plans.

· Provide advice and support to the site teams on QHSE issues.

· Prepare, update and track QHSE statistical data as required. 

· Keep up to date with all current Health, Safety & Environmental Laws, and practices.

· Assist the UK QHSE Manager in maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Achilles certifications.

· Conduct and coordinate regular on-site inspections, safe work practices, site rescue drills and compliance with UK / ROI legislation.

· Work with Management to satisfy the needs of our customers within the bounds of contractual compliance.

· Review company QHSE processes and procedures as directed by the UK QHSE Manager.

· Support the UK QHSE Manager on all QHSE matters.

DOCUMENTATION & RECORD KEEPING

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to QHSE policies, procedures, and records.

· Assist in the maintenance of QHSE manuals, procedures, registers, forms, guidelines, and other documentation.

Compliance Monitoring: 

· Conduct regular documentation inspections and assist with reviews and updates in readiness for annual audits to ensure compliance with applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

· Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. · Assist in the provision and upkeep of safety equipment where necessary. 

· Assist the business in maintaining current ISO 9001 & 45001 accreditations and help maintain the management system and contribute to the continuous improvement of QHSE processes and procedures.

· Participate in regular reviews and updates of QHSE management systems and support in the creation, advertisement & implementation of Health & Safety Campaigns.

· Support the business in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation measures where appropriate.

· Assist in the development of emergency response plans, HSE plans and procedures in conjunction with our clients’ requirements.

· Assist with quality, health & safety enquiries, and consulting with other staff as necessary, and advising accordingly.

· Collaborate with different departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of QHSE initiatives and matters.

· Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations on QHSE performance statistics for monthly communication reports and flyers. 

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, i.e. QHSE Administrative position with some experience of managing and auditing a QHSE integrated management system, wind turbine experience.

· Relevant working experience in safety, environment, quality, engineering, HSE management systems, and project management in the wind industry would be highly advantageous. 

· A basic understanding of current and emergent legislation/guidance within QHSE.

· Some experience in the use of the Microsoft Office Environment, with an understanding of SharePoint, but not essential. 

· IOSH Managing Safely certification or similar is advantageous. · Knowledge of Internal auditing is advantageous 

· Some knowledge of ISO9001, ISO45001 and/or ISO14001
