Role clarification

The Finance Support role is responsible for delivering both accounting and administrative assistance to the finance department, including remote support to our sites across the UK. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in providing a wide range of administrative support, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who is highly organised, adaptable, and enjoys the challenge of supporting a dynamic and busy team.

Duties and responsibilities

• Creating quotations and sales invoices for additional services.

• Maintain the additional services tracker (reporting spreadsheet) and communicate with relevant teams to ensure timely billing.

• Process supplier invoices accurately and on time. 

• Understand and apply cost centre accounting principles as required.

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of VAT rules and apply them appropriately.

• Support the Finance Manager with general accounting and finance tasks.

• Liaise with the invoicing/contracts department & stores team to resolve open issues. 

• Act as the first point of contact for the main phone line.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a customer-facing role, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

• Confident handling customer queries, resolving issues in a timely and courteous manner.

• Experience in raising and processing invoices with strong attention to detail.

• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• IT skills and proficiency in using an ERP system and Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

Other essentials

You will also need to provide the correct Right to Work documentation and relevant qualifications.
